A series of First Teacher parent meetings are offered on Zoom at 10 a.m. on most Mondays.
This is an opportunity for parents/caregivers/guardians to get information on different parenting topics and young children to hear a story read aloud to them virtually by guest readers in the convenience of their homes and free of charge. During the event, participants may type in questions using the chat feature.
On September 28, Shanna Crutchfield, community outreach manager for Vanir Construction, will introduce a special character and talk about sibling rivalry.
On October 5, Franklin Elementary first grade teacher and Sequim School District board director Eric Pickens will be guest reader.
On October 12, Wild Birds Unlimited owner Christie Lassen will talk about wild bird rescue along with folks from Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue.
On October 19, Dungeness River Audubon Center director Powell Jones explores the outdoor world with a focus on the amazing lives of owls and a chance to learn and practice their sounds!
On October 26, Helen Haller Elementary School teacher Lorrie Corder will share a pumpkin craft and talk about kindergarten readiness.
Parent Zooms are scheduled through the end of the year, including a monthly science spot with the Dungeness River Audubon Center, and Santa as a very special guest reader!
